The architectural tapestry of SPECTRAS is meticulously woven to orchestrate the efficient management of Radio Frequency (RF) signals intelligently. Ground station antennas capture signals from satellites, intricately channeling them into spectrum analyzers and other signal-processing equipment. The SPECTRAS server processes data transmitted from network sites, while trace data is perpetually stored on the open SPECTRAS database, updating this mosaic in real time.

At the user level, engineers and operators seamlessly and securely connect to the SPECTRAS browser-based platform with encrypted passwords, unfettered by geographical constraints. This empowerment allows them to observe traces autonomously, set alarm thresholds, traverse historical data, and modify spectrum analyzer properties. SPECTRAS graciously accommodates an unlimited influx of simultaneous connections without additional resource requirements, efficiently splitting the spectrum analyzer's processing power to create multiple virtual analyzers and fostering centralized vigilance.

SPECTRAS adopts a structured approach, affording Super Users, Administrators, Operators, Viewers, and Firewalled Viewers access to resources, diligently tiered based on privilege levels. Integrated LDAP and Active Directory enhance user management, authentication, and access control. Compartmentalization in SPECTRAS ensures organized and structured user access, segmenting users into discrete compartments, each entrusted with specific roles, responsibilities, and access privileges. This fortification amplifies security, control, and manageability in spectrum monitoring operations, permitting engineers, operators, and clientele to immerse in trace observations, establish alarming criteria, and modify spectrum analyzer properties without performance repercussions.

The functionality of SPECTRAS spans from traditional features like MIN/MAX and Markers to advanced satellite calculations, encompassing Cross-Pol measurements, Advanced History, and seamless weather integrations. SPECTRAS empowers users to create multi-window walls, grouping and displaying various signals on a single screen. Trace data is judiciously preserved, granting authorized users the privilege to download raw data, revisit archived traces, orchestrate post-event calculations, and craft insightful reports.

SPECTRAS effortlessly accommodates exponential growth, evolving into a global system monitoring numerous pieces of equipment and supporting many simultaneous users, all while storing vast data reservoirs. Notably, the platform, which runs on Windows and Linux, imposes minimal system requirements and offers boundless latitude for client installations, simultaneous users, monitoring sites, and interconnected spectrum analyzers. SPECTRAS supports integrated 3rd party spectrum analyzers and receivers, including select models from Calian (Decimator D3-D4), RF (Design SQA16), Rhode & Schwarz (FS Series), and Anritsu (MS27103A).

  • Recommended: 100-250GB of HD free (SSD preferred but not mandatory)

CPU: Released within the last 6 years, dual-core, ideally above 2.0 GHz RAM: 8GB or more

 

Minimum Hardware: Spectras accommodates various hardware configurations, including dedicated PCs, physical servers, and virtual machines (VMs).

Architecture: The Spectras infrastructure consists of four key processes:

  1. Server: Collects real-time RF data and forwards it to subscribed browser client instances and the database for storage.

  2. Database: Stores the collected data efficiently.

  4. Client: The user interface for accessing and interacting with the Spectras platform.

 

The Spectras Server is versatile, running on various environments, including physical servers, virtual machines, or on the Cloud. The platform supports multi-threading, allowing simultaneous communication with all networked instruments.

Spectras monitors thousands of signals from diverse sources, including Spectrum Analyzers, Receivers, and Streamed Trace Data. Its adaptable architecture effortlessly integrates with third-party test equipment, such as RF switches, with minimal effort.

  • Approximate Storage Used for Monitoring/Recording 1 Signal 24hrs Continuously for 30 Days:

    • Live: Up to 63 GB (20 traces a second)

    • Polling: Up to 4 GB
